How often do you sit back and recognize all the good in your life that granted you all the many memories that bear fruit to be grateful for? How often do you take the time to appreciate your life and everyone in it? Do you somehow get distracted or discouraged by looking through the glass window of someone else’s life? Is it that you found a way to convince yourself that your life is no longer enough? Life itself is full of surprises, that make you smile, laugh, and sometimes cry. It is a unique journey we all were gifted with, all involving heartaches, lessons, joy, and celebrations. It is easy to get caught up in the timing and personal plans that sometimes serve no purpose, as things may not always go accordingly. Sometimes we see others’ achievements, career, marriage, and family and compare them to our current state in life if things are not going well. When we are not satisfied with ourselves, we tend to pick our lives apart. Someone once said, “never compare your inside to someone’s outside.” Begin to start with what you have and do what no one else can do, be you. The more time being spent comparing your life to others, the more time passes you by. It is important not to rob yourself of all of life’s possibilities and experience. Life is what we make it and it’s an experience worth sharing. Instead of looking at what could be better, opt-in for simply being thankful.
“If you continuously compete with others you become bitter, but if you continuously compete with yourself, you become better.”- unknown
