Enough, but is it ?

Life can be tough, especially with any combination of work, school, kids, relationships, family, or bills. Do you really have time for a social life or “me” time ? Why does it feel like we always fall short of having it “together”? Why does it feel that even if you give your best at what you are doing, it seems like you are still falling short?

Throughout each day, it is common to find something that you have forgotten to do or skipped a step. Maybe you cheated with your carb loaded lunch, when a cheat day is not for another week. Maybe you haven’t been to the gym in over a week, when you promised yourself that you would go twice a week. Maybe you forgot to call your grandmother on her birthday because you got caught up in working two jobs or putting the kids to bed for the fourth time tonight. Life is hard. It can seem as if you are always going, trying to reach this level of satisfaction and no matter how hard you try, you simply don’t make the cut.

These feeling can make us feel down, anxious, depressed, and even overwhelmed. The constant slap in the face of not feeling like your enough is a heavy burden to carry . But you know what…

You are enough, a thousand times enough! No one lives your life. No one is justified to tell you that, when you are doing your best, that it is not enough. How are you justifying that what you’re doing isn’t your best ? At the end of the day, we should be proud of the accomplishments that we have made. Regardless, the magnitude or type of the accomplishment, you are succeeding! You are succeeding at life and all that it encompasses, because if you were not, well, then you wouldn’t be invested in doing more and being your best. We should find time to love and appreciate ourselves more for the things that we DO accomplish verse the things that we did not do.

We are human beings learning something new every day which typically gives us the power to head toward the next steps in life. We must appreciate our accomplishments because this is what we need for the next step. Before we run, we must be able to walk, and before we walk, we must be able to crawl. Each step-in life gives us the tools we need to progress onward. We need this moment and it is a step forward towards our overall goals. Even when we feel as if nothing we do has worked out, and the effort is beginning to run dry, you should remember, YOU ARE ENOUGH! IF you don’t believe in yourself, who will?
